H K E. Society’s of Dental Sciences, Gulbarga(HKES), The Hon’ble President of HKE Society Sri Baswarajappa Appa with his forethought and great vision, felt the need of a Dental College in this area. In those days there was no Dental College in north Karnataka area. Considering the need of dental health care facilities for the people of Hyderabad Karnataka region, he initiated the Dental College establishment in 1986. On 21st August 1996 the college was named as S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences & Research by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri H.D. Devegowda and the former Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri J.H. Patel.
Initially, the institute was affiliated to Gulbarga University however in 1996, its affiliation was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS) Bangalore. S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Science & analysis institute offers college by and postgraduate course within the stream of Dental Sciences – BDS – with an intake of forty students and MDS with an intake of 17 students. Each the courses are approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and are conducted as per the norms of RGUHS Bangalore.
